December 6: 2nd Annual Barn to Barn Christmas Trail Ride!

We are looking for barns in Lake Picket Estates to participate!

To speed things up, please mail in the belong entry form and a check along with a copy of your horses coggins. All entries will be automatically entered in our drawings to be held at the end of the ride. Winners names will be drawn at the last farm.

What is a Barn to Barn Christmas Trail Ride?

At our event last year, riders rode to 5 different farms in our neighborhood. At each farm, refreshments were served and entertainment provided. We had Santa Clause at one farm. This year we hope to have Carollers along the way! At the conclusion of the ride, there will be items raffled off, including gift certificates to Smart Pak Equine and local tack stores, as well as services and goodies donated.

ALL proceeds go to Heart Land Horse Rescue to provide for feed, vet and farrier services.

The Barn to Barn Christmas Trail Ride will begin at 2420 Mills Creek Road, Chuluota, Florida, 32766. Look for signs for parking. All farms participating will be located within the Lake Pickett Estates neighborhood and riding will be along dirt roads and along the equestrian bridle paths. Ride at your own pace, but please be considerate of other participants. We expect to have carriages and bikers, as well as walkers and their dogs! The pace is designed to be ridden at a leisurely pace, mainly walk and trot.

RELEASE:

I,____________________________________(name of participant), agree to hold Heart Land Horse Rescue, and its founders and Board of Directors, harmless from any injury or death which may result from participating in the 2nd Annual Heart Land Horse Rescue Barn to Barn Christmas Trail Ride, held on December 6, 2008. I also agree to hold harmless all land owners, heirs and estates of those farms participating in the event. I understand that equestrian events are inherently dangerous and I accept all risks, including injury, death, and damage or destruction to or of other horses or property. I understand that under Florida law, an equine sponsor or professional is not liable for an injury to, or the death of, a participant in an equine activity, resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities.
